    Ingredients

    • 2 cups Flour (sifted)
    • 2 tablespoons Baking Powder
    • 1/2lb Salt-Fish (shredded codfish)
    • 1 Small Onion

    Directions

    Step 1
    Chop ingredients.

    Step 2
    Combine the flour, baking powder, onion, garlic, and the rest of the seasonings, and the saltfish.

    Step 3
    Allow the batter to fry until slightly golden on one side and turn over until the other side is the same. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

    Salted codfish shredded and seasoned with peppers, onions and tomatoes, Buljol often served with coconut bake and sliced avocado.

    Ingredients

    • packet Salt-Fish (shredded codfish)
    • 1 Small Onion (sliced)
    • 1 Tomato (sliced)
    • 1 Sweet Pepper (sliced)
    • 1 Pepper (sliced)
    • 1 Lime
    • 1 Pimento (sliced)

    Note

    Salted codfish shredded and seasoned with peppers, onions and tomatoes, often served with coconut bake and sliced avocado. Buljol is a corruption of the French brûle gueule, which means "burn mouth". A popular dish in Trinidad and the Caribbean.

    Directions

    Step 1
    Break fish in pieces and place in saucepan.
    Step 2
    Squeeze half lime over mixture and serve with coconut bake or other hearty bread and sliced avocado.
